PET-CT Scan – Brain (FDG)
Also Known As : [PET CT Brain FDG] [PET Scan Brain FDG] [18 F FDG Scan PET/CT Brain]
A PET-CT Scan – Brain (FDG) scan is a diagnostic imaging procedure that combines positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) techniques. Healthcare professionals use this advanced imaging test to gather detailed information about the functioning and structure of the brain, enabling them to detect abnormalities, diagnose diseases, and plan appropriate treatments.
Before the PET-CT Scan – Brain (FDG), patients typically receive instructions to fast for a specific period to ensure accurate results. When patients arrive, they lie on a comfortable scanning table that slowly moves through a large circular machine housing both the PET and CT scanners. To obtain clear and precise images, patients must remain still during the procedure.
Test Preparation :The test requires a 4-6 hour fasting period, preferably overnight. Only plain water is allowed during fasting. Diabetic patients should have a light breakfast at 6am on the test day and take their prescribed medication. It is important not to miss the diabetic medication in the morning of the test. Please inform us about your diabetic history for proper planning. Remember to bring your old report/CD.
Reporting TAT : Next Day*
